WEBSTER'S AGENT IS READY TO SUE VLAD

CONTROVERSIAL Hearts owner Vladimir Romanov was warned last night he could face legal action from Andy Webster's agent.

Charlie Duddy and Scotland star Webster have kept a dignified silence over the past six weeks amid negative statements made by Romanov.

But Duddy has now moved to assess his legal options in the wake of Romanov's latest verbal attack.

Duddy's lawyers wrote to Romanov last week warning him about his public remarks in which the controversial Jambos chief claimed he was giving Webster bad advice. Webster missed Saturday's Scottish Cup Final win over Gretna and hasn't featured in the first team since early April after revelations he wouldn't sign a new contract at Tynecastle.

Then i n the wake o f Romanov's post-Scottish Cup outburst on Sunday when he implied the 23-year-old had feigned injury ahead of their last SPL game of the season at Ibrox, Duddy's legal team quickly penned another letter to Romanov and Hearts.

Romanov said: "My main goal is to build a team that plays great football and to make sure there are no parasites who feed from this club. If this happens we'll be champions.

"Who are these parasites?

They have two legs, two arms, empty heads and know only one word - money."

Angela McCracken is the lawyer acting for FIFA-licensed agent Duddy.

McCracken said: "In light of the scurrilous remarks made by Vladimir Romanov in his capacity as the owner of Hearts Football Club, I'm discussing with my client, Mr Charlie Duddy, the various options open to him.

"We're currently seeking the opinion of senior counsel on this matter."

Webster will also be taking legal advice concerning remarks made about him, his parents and his agent.
