RAY'S OUT TO GRET THE NEW LUBO

GRETNA last night kicked off their European adventure by vowing to discover the new Lubomir Moravcik.

The Scottish Cup finalists, who have already secured a passport to next season's UEFA Cup, last week lured Ray Farningham as chief European scout.

He immediately called his contacts in Slovakia, the home of former Celtic star Moravcik.

Former Dundee assistant Farningham officially began in his new post yesterday with a remit from owner Brooks Mileson to bring in the new faces to drive them to the SPL.

And he said: "We're looking all across Europe and Slovakia is one area we'll be looking closely at.

"Moravcik is well remembered and you never know what you might discover if you look hard enough.

"The club want to bring in the best and that's the kind of quality we would love to see."
