Dunfermline finalise deal for HamiltonCHRIS ROBERTS DUNFERMLINE have completed the signing of striker Jim Hamilton from Motherwell on a two-year contract. The 30-year-old, who had a brief spell at East End Park in 2003, has completed the move for an undisclosed fee. Hamilton was told he could leave Fir Park by manager Maurice Malpas if the right deal was made available. And Pars chairman John Yorkston believes he could be the man to drag the club off the bottom of the Bank of Scotland Premierleague. "That's a done deal now," said Yorkston, who also expects to finalise the transfer of Stevie Crawford from Aberdeen today. "He has signed a two-year deal with us. He is a proven goalscorer in our own league and he normally gets into double figures for goals." Motherwell last week signed Calum Elliot on loan from Hearts, while Hamilton, who has been with the Lanarkshire outfit since leaving Livingston in January 2005, has not featured in their past three matches. Dunfermline strikers Mark Burchill, Noel Whelan, Jim McIntyre and Freddie Daquin are all currently sidelined by injuries. Taken from the Scotsman |
