Europe at heart of Meyong choice

Champions League football could win Hearts the signature of Cameroon striker Albert Meyong.

Meyong wants a move from Portuguese side Belenenses after his 17 goals failed to prevent them being relegated.

And his agent, Paulo Teixera, told BBC Sport: "The prospect of Champions League football could play a big part in where he plays next season."

However, a transfer fee would be required for the 25-year-old, who has a year left of his current contract.

Belenenses could demand up to £2m for Meyong, reportedly interesting Hearts, who finished second in the Scottish Premier League.

He would also require a work permit before a transfer to the Edinburgh club could be concluded.

It would be no problem to find Julien Brellier a club
Agent Mauricio de Giorgis

Meanwhile, the agent for Julien Brellier has demanded that Hearts inform the French midfielder whether he figures in their plans next season.

Brellier has been at Tynecastle for a season after leaving Inter Milan and has an option of another year.

But, despite being a regular starter under George Burley and Graham Rix, he has been left on the bench recently by latest head coach Valdas Ivanauskas and is not favoured by owner Vladimir Romanov.

And Mauricio de Giorgis said: "Hearts will have to tell us what they want to do this week.

"It would be no problem to find Julien a club as he's enjoyed a good championship in Scotland.

"We have interest elsewhere, but we must wait for Hearts to call so we can sit around the table and have discussions about the future.

"Mr Romanov is the owner and therefore he is the man who calls the shots.

"It's certain Julen will not be without a club next season, but the correct way to conduct business is to speak with Hearts first."
