Burley to raid Rams for HuntDARREN JOHNSTONE NEW Hearts manager George Burley is set to bring chief scout Simon Hunt and goalkeeping coach Malcolm Webster from former club Derby. Hunt was handed the remit of scouring the globe for talent while Burley was in charge at both Ipswich and Derby and will take on a similar role at Tynecastle. Webster, who worked alongside the Scot at Portman Road and Pride Park, is also poised to join Burley in the capital, an appointment which will leave current goalkeeping coach Peter Latchford's future in doubt. Burley said: "Simon was my chief scout and my international scout and there is no doubt that bringing players in is very important for the club, so that is an area we will definitely have to look at. The coaching structure is something I also have to look at and I have to assess the staff we have here already. "There is no doubt we need to bring in some people because we are quite thin on the ground, like the squad." Burley is keen to have Hunt installed as the club's new chief scout as soon as possible as he wants to add six players to the squad before the start of the new campaign. Taken from the Scotsman |
