How Scotland players rated

MARTIN GREIG September 07 2006
Craig Gordon First real test came in last 10 minutes when he expertly turned away a Marius Stankevicius shot which deflected off Weir. No chance with the goal and dealt with everything else easily 6

Steven Pressley Great chance to double Scotland's lead just before the hour but failed to connect with Hartley's delivery. Solid at back 6

Christian Dailly Towering header opened scoring just after interval. Switched from defence to midfield in first half, but caught under ball from corner delivery which led to Lithuania goal 6

David Weir Entered SFA Hall of Fame after winning his 50th cap last night. Strolled through game at heart of Scotland defence 6

Darren Fletcher Patchy. started poorly, but grew in stature as the game progressed 6

Gary Naysmith Excellent corner set up Dailly's 47th-minute goal. Patrolled left with his usual distinction 7

Paul Hartley Pushed forward to support Miller for a stage. Worked tirelessly in midfield and excellent set-piece deliveries 6

Nigel Quashie Good shot punched away in the third minute. Combative as ever, but replaced by Kris Boyd after picking up injury 6

Gary Caldwell Headed a Tomas Zvirgzdauskas effort off line from 12 yards early on. Booked in the second half for late challenge 6

James McFadden Early shot saved. Looked threatening as a support to Miller, but succumbed to injury and replaced by Alexander in 22nd minute 6

Kenny Miller Opportunist strike doubled lead just after hour. Ran all night and linked well with Boyd. Booked in 29 minutes, ruling him out of next match ....... 8

Substitutes
Graham Alexander Slotted in well on right side. Had good effort saved midway through second half and picked out Boyd with an excellent cross late in the game 7

Kris Boyd Added physical presence and key role in lead-up to second goal. Spurned great headed chance in 75th minute 7
