Could an international central defender be heading to The Valley?

Rumours are circulating that the Addicks are poised to make a move for Wolves Scottish international defender, Christophe Berra. Berra cost the Molineux outfit £2,300,000 when he moved south from Hearts in 2009.

The Edinburgh born centre-back has made exactly 300 appearances in his career, 146 for Hearts and 154 for Wolves.

He will be 28 at the end of next month so should be approaching his prime. Charlton have released Matt Taylor, so Chris Powell may wish to bring in an experienced replacement, though youngsters Semi Ajayi and Kevin Feely will be hoping to make a breakthrough in the forthcoming campaign.
