Webby: "This is not acceptable"

Andrew Webster believes that the players have to take responsibility for the club's poor position in the league.

The Jambos currently sit 11th in the SPL, a feat that ultimately saw John McGlynn part ways with the club. Webby, captain of the side, feels that it's up to the players to take the bull by the horns and increase standards significantly.

Speaking to the press this morning at the pre-match press conference, he said: "Under the circumstances yes, it's been difficult. It's never a nice situation to be in. In terms of results, we are where we are in the league. Whether you're a player, a coach or manager results determine what's going to happen.

"The players take a fair amount of responsibility, not just for recent weeks but probably since the start of the season. Individually and collectively, we need to take responsibility. The manager set us up the way he wanted, we went out on the pitch and we're more than capable of winning football matches but it's not happened. Players need to take responsibility for that.

"For us to be in the situation that we are is not acceptable. It's something that we need to rectify immediately. There have been circumstances over the course of the season, but generally, to be where we are in the league is nowhere near good enough for this football club."
