Callum kicks-on03.02.2013 Callum Tapping refused to get too down on Saturday after Hearts conceded a last-minute equaliser against Ross County. The 19 year old midfielder, called up to the Scotland U21 squad on Saturday evening, made his fourth top team appearance in Dingwall and impressed again, along with his fellow young teammates. Speaking to the press after the match, Callum said: "It was a good game, we were obviously unlucky to lose the goal in the last minute so it was a bit of a let-down. "It was a good performance from all of the boys, especially the younger ones, but we have to move on now." Callum has enjoyed every minute of his first team experience this season but knows he has to maintain high standards in order to retain his place every week. I've enjoyed coming into the first team, it's been a great experience so far," he said. "Hopefully I can just kick-on. It's always a help playing with fellow youth team players, you know the faces and them already. It's good, I enjoy it. "The experienced guys have been brilliant with us, they help us along. Guys like Webby, Stevo, Marius, everyone really. They've been brilliant. "It's always good to play but others are always knocking on the door. One minute I might be playing well then another minute the gaffer might think that he has to change it that week and others could play, so it keeps me on my toes. "I'd love to stay in the team in the run up to the League Cup Final, but again it's the gaffer's decision." Hearts World |
