Jambos living in fear now

LEWIS STEVENSON has cranked up the heat on Hearts by insisting they are gripped by FEAR.

The Hibs star claims the jittery Jambos are more worried about being beaten than savouring glory.

He believes all the pressure is on Paulo Sergio’s men at Hampden.

Stevenson said: “Hearts and their fans are more worried about losing to us than actually winning it. It’s worse for them.

“They go on so much about Hibs not winning it, so everything could change if we do it on Saturday.”

It’s 110 years since the Hibees last got their hands on the trophy — a dire record that is constantly brought up by Jambos jokers.

But now Stevenson believes the gloating will stop and that prospect has Hearts in a mass panic.

He added: “Hibs fans are saying if Hearts win, nothing really changes.

“If we win it then EVERYTHING changes. We rewrite history.

“This is definitely the biggest game I’ve been involved in and that’s the same for most of the boys.

“Being in a Scottish Cup Final would have been big anyway, but the fact we’re up against Hearts and the history which goes along with it makes it bigger.”

Hibs were back at their Tranent training base yesterday after a three-day stay in Dublin.

Stevenson said: “Pretty much since the semi-finals finished it’s been non-stop. In Tesco doing the shopping, people have been coming up and telling me to win it.

“Now we can turn a pretty bad season into one of the best in Hibs’ history.

“It’s strange how things happen, but we have every chance.

“No one has even talked about the celebrations if we win because all we’re thinking about is the game.

“There is a major 90 minutes to come and we know we are not favourites.

“Hearts will feel they are going to win it, but our form has been OK recently and we’ve timed it well and believe we can do it.”
