Bruno Aguiar: Inverness be a tough game for Hearts

Bruno Aguiar fears the sacking of Inverness manager Craig Brewster will be "bad news" for Hearts when the sides meet in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League on Saturday.

By Andrew Lomax

Rock-bottom Caley Thistle are likely to travel to Tynecastle without a manager following Brewster's dismissal on Monday.

Hearts midfielder Aguiar, 27, reckons the visitors will be extra-determined to put on a show and avoid an eighth straight SPL defeat.

He told Hearts TV: "I think this is bad news for us because, when the coach is out, the players always give a little bit more.

"So I think it will be a very hard game. We cannot think that because Inverness are last, it is easy.

"We must enter this game with confidence but with care."

Manager Csaba Laszlo has also urged caution, saying: "Inverness are at the bottom of the league at the moment and everybody will wait for us to win the game with many goals.

"But I am just happy if we get three points and play well; then we can concentrate on the next game."

He added: "I am so sorry for my colleague who was sacked. I am not happy if I read somewhere, especially in the league where I work, that a coach has lost his job. I wish him all the best and I think he will find another team very quickly.

"I think he did a good job. Inverness is not a team that will win you a league but I appreciate his work very well. This is football and I hope everything will be OK with him."

Aguiar helped Hearts end a five-match winless run in the SPL with a goal in last weekend's 2-0 victory at Kilmarnock.

Hearts now lie fifth, just a point adrift of third-placed Aberdeen, who host Rangers on Saturday.

Portuguese star Aguiar refuses to become obsessed with the table as the battle for European football next season hots up.

He said: "If you go into a game and try to get the three points, afterwards you can look to the table.

"If you look at the table all the time, it is not good."

Saturday's game was Aguiar's first appearance for a month in what has been an injury-hit Hearts career.

"I am 100 per cent and I want to help the team," he said.

"When you are injured for one or two weeks or one month, you are always sad at home.

"But you must look to the future with confidence and, when you play, try to make everything good for the team."

His fellow midfielder Laryea Kingston has missed the last two games through injury and remains a doubt for this weekend.

Laszlo said: "I hope later in the week Larry will begin normal training with the team. I can't tell you whether he will be ready for Saturday.

"If a player is out for two or three weeks, his fitness can be a problem. Slowly we can build him up to come back. The hamstring problem kept him out for a long period."
