Hearts' Eggert Jonsson happy to play anywhereSt Mirren (0) 0 Hearts (0) 1 William Gray Hearts defender Eggert Jonsson insists he will play anywhere for manager Csaba Laszlo as long as he is in the side. The Iceland international secured the points for Hearts at St Mirren on Saturday with a 79th-minute header from Andy Driver's free-kick, even though the visitors had been reduced to 10 men in the first half after Michael Stewart's red card. Despite midfield being his natural position, Jonsson has become the club's recognised right-back this term and was deployed at centre-half at Love Street. A lengthy injury list and suspension to Marius Zaliukas led to Jonsson's switch to central defence and, although he is not planning a career in that role, he admits he is content just to be playing. Jonsson, whose goal ended a run of five successive matches without victory, said: "It's the first time I have played centre-half for the first team although I have played there a few times for the reserves. "When there are injuries, I can play there. It's not my favourite position but it's OK. "As long as I am in the team, I will play anywhere. The manager told me what to do, he kept me right and getting the goal from the set-piece is just a bonus." St Mirren midfielder Hugh Murray insisted referee Mike McCurry was right to give Stewart his marching order four minutes before the interval. Stewart kicked out at Murray in an off-the-ball clash and, following a long delay, McCurry brandished a red card after consulting with fourth official Bobby Madden. Murray said: "Michael Stewart broke away from me and I caught the back of his boot by accident. "He drove away from me and played the ball out wide. I got on the other side of him and he barged into me a bit. At the time I thought it should have been a sending off and I got up and said that to Mike McCurry but he didn't see it. I said to him I thought he had a kick out at me." Match details St Mirren: Howard, Miranda, Haining, Potter, Ross, Mason, Murray, Brady (Dorman 46), Robb, Mehmet (Dargo 71), Wyness (Hamilton 62).
