Laszlo handed two-match ban in wake of post-match controversy

Csaba Laszlo, the Hearts head coach, has been handed a two-match touchline ban by the SFA following his behaviour in the aftermath of Saturday's 1-1 draw with Aberdeen.

The Hungarian had to be restrained after clashing with fourth official John McKendrick as he made his way on to the pitch towards referee Steve Conroy, who had performed a u-turn over awarding Hearts a penalty just five minutes earlier. Laszlo also appeared to shove Sandy Clark, the Aberdeen coach, even though the former Hearts striker was attempting to calm him down.

The SFA acted before receiving Conroy's official match report. "The Hearts manager, Csaba Laszlo, has been handed a two-match touchline ban, which is effective from November 8,"

an SFA spokesperson said.

Laszlo, therefore, will miss the November 8 game at St Mirren and the visit of Hamilton four days later, unless he lodges an appeal.

Laszlo said last night: "We watched the video and I can tell you what I saw. The ball was played by Michael Stewart, the goalkeeper came out and had a collision.

"Whether you give this penalty or not is not the question, my opinion is about the time taken to give the penalty and then take it back. The communication was very long and maybe this was the problem."
