MIKOLIUNAS ESCAPES FURTHER WRATH OF SFAHEARTS winger Saulius Mikoliunas last night escaped further SFA punishment over his conduct in Sunday's derby draw with Hibs. The 22-year-old Lithuanian was sent off for the third time in his Hearts career by referee Charlie Richmond during the 2-2 clash at Easter Road after being shown two yellow cards. But he could have been sent off earlier after stamping on David Murphy after another hefty tackle floored the Hibs man. But Richmond didn't take any action for that and it was left to the SFA to decide if it was to take the incident before a review panel. But Mikoliunas has been boosted by the news he will face no further action. Drew Herbertson, the SFA's head of discipline, said: "There was a suggestion from the Murphy incident of a possible referral to a review panel. But The referee dealt with the play at the time so the matter is closed. Meanwhile, Hearts could face disciplinary action if they don't clean up their act before the SFA review in January. The Gorgie team have been shown seven red cards this season. Taken from the Daily Record |
