IT'LL BE ELL IF I DON'T GET BACK IN SIDEJohn Gardner MOTHERWELL'S on-loan striker Calum Elliot will have to sit out Saturday's game against Hearts but hopes he's done enough to win an immediate recall for the following game. The Scotland Under-19 marksman has started the two matches Well have played since sealing his temporary switch from Tynecastle - the win over Falkirk and last week's 4-1 loss to Inverness - but the terms of his loan move mean he can't face his old Jambos team-mates. The talented youngster will have to watch from the stands when Hearts travel to Fir Park at the weekend but he doesn't want to be idle for long. Elliot opened his account for Motherwell on Tuesday when he netted the winner for the reserves against Falkirk. And he hopes he has done enough since arriving at Fir Park to keep his place in the team for the game against Dundee United a week on Saturday. Elliot said: "I am not able to play in the game against Hearts but I thought I did okay in the reserve game the other day against Falkirk. "Hopefully I've done enough to give the manager food for thought for our next game." Motherwell coach Paul Hegarty revealed he was pleased with Elliot's contribution on Tuesday. He said: "It was important for Calum to score and show that, when we get a chance, we can put it away." Taken from the Daily Record |
