Ivanauskas happy with Hearts winValdas Ivanauskas was impressed with Hearts' response to their midweek European exit, following a 4-1 home win against Inverness. Goals from Mauricio Penilla, Jamie Mole, Andy Driver and Bruno Aguiar secured the points as the Edinburgh club kept up their SPL title challenge. "I was very impressed with the players performance today after the AEK Athens defeat," said the head coach. "A few players debuted today and they did well. Our aim is always to win." Hearts had to regroup following the disappointment of going out on aggregate to the Greek side in the Champions League qualifier. And Ivanauskas took the opportunity to introduce fringe players into top team action - a move which paid off in style. The Lithuanian rested Takis Fyssas and Julien Brellier, and with Robbie Neilson suspended, Hearts still recorded their best league win against the Highlanders. "It was the first time in front of the home fans for some players and althought they were nervous to begin with, I felt they did well overall," added Ivanauskas. "Jamie (Mole) did well over in Athens and it was great for him to score today, as strikers thrive on confidence. "It has been a very satisfying day for us." Taken from the BBC |
