We need best-ever result in Europe, says GordonHEARTS goalkeeper Craig Gordon believes overturning a first leg 2-1 deficit to reach the group stages of the Champions League by beating AEK Athens in Greece would represent the club's greatest achievement in Europe. "A win would be, without doubt, the biggest win Hearts would ever have had," said the Scotland international. "The money side of things for the club and the prestige of what is involved with the Champions League these days would definitely make it the biggest win ever. "It's not impossible. It's very difficult but there is still a chance for us. We go there confident in our ability to get the win we need. "We have got to get closer to them, shut them down and not let them play as much football as they did at Murrayfield. "I know they had a lot of shots from long range but it was the amount of times they managed to manoeuvre themselves into shooting positions and get a shot off, that was the most worrying thing for everybody. "But if we can do a bit better and maybe take a couple of chances then it's still there for us." Taken from the Scotsman |
