WEIR A GOOD BET TO WIN TITLECOLERAINE 0-3 QUEEN OF THE SOUTH GRAEME WEIR reckons Queens have what it takes to go from being relegation strugglers to title contenders. The former Hearts striker said: "The gaffer has already told us we have to do something this season and we all feel we can achieve success. "It will be a tough season but I wouldn't say the title is out of our reach, not with the squad the gaffer has managed to put together. "We have experienced players in our team who know what it takes to get out of this division. We finished last season very strongly so I think other teams will see us as a real threat." Queens ran out easy winners in Northern Ireland thanks to second-half goals from John O'Neill, Sean O'Connor and Andy Thomson. But the victory was marred by a nasty injury to defender Andy Aitken, who was carried off just before half-time with a suspected dislocated knee. Taken from the Daily Record |
