Edinburgh City gear up for Hearts kids KEITH ANDERSON EDINBURGH City, the East of Scotland League champions, start their pre-season build up with a friendly against the Hearts under-19 team at Meadowbank Stadium tonight, kick-off 7pm. "Hearts will give us a thorough workout," said City boss Tom Steven. "It is always nice to play against full-time professionals although this fixture has probably come just a bit too early for us. "However, all my players will get a lift and will gain from the experience. I am happy that the majority of the boys who did so well for us last year will do the business again. "I will also have some trialists tonight, some with experience of English non-league football and some with senior experience in Scotland." City have lost striker Craig Young to Spartans while defender Andy Donnachie has moved to Ireland. Tadg Moriarty and Martin O'Doherty have yet to decide where their futures lie. Admission prices tonight are adults £3 and concessions £1. |
