McCann Targets CelticHearts winger Neil McCann hopes to be fit and available for selection when Celtic visit Tynecastle on August 6. McCann played for just 23 minutes on his return to the club in January at Rugby Park before a crunching tackle put him out for the rest of the season. He did have one false start when he appeared to have recovered enough to be in contention for the Scottish Cup semi-final against Hibs, but sadly he broke down in training in the lead-up to that match. The 31 year-old is still unlikely to be fit in time for Hearts' first game of the season: the Champions League qualifying tie on the 25th or 26th July at Murrayfield. However he is targetting one of the opening two league games for his return, with the second one, at home to Celtic, being the most realistic. McCann told Hearts World: 'If I can focus on the first or second league game that will do. I'm desperate to get a first team match under my belt.' http://www.hearts.vitalfootball.co.uk |
