ELL'S WELL AS JAMBOS TIE UP KIDBy Gordon Parks HEARTS youngster Calum Elliot has signed a new deal which will tie him to the Tynecastle club until 2011. The 19-year-old who will lead the attack for the Scotland under-19 side during the European Championship's in Poland next month has agreed a new five year deal. Securing Elliot on a long term contract will be viewed as an astute piece of business by the Gorgie side as the youngster is rapidly emerging as the best home grown talent of his age group. The player said: "I am delighted at securing my future with Hearts as I truly believe the club is destined for great things in future seasons. "I am learning every day from the players around me. I am also looking forward to the challenge of facing some of the best teams in Europe. "I will continue to work on all areas of my game in order to maintain the progress I have made in recent seasons." Having already been selected by his country at Under-21 level, Elliot has enjoyed a meteoric rise to prominence since he burst on to the SPL scene last season. The striker scored six goals last termand played a significant role in helping the Jambos clinch a Champions League qualification spot and was a key member of the Scottish Cup-winning squad.
