Hearts silent on ban threatHEARTS today refused to comment on reports which claimed that they could face a worldwide ban from all transfer activity because they haven't paid Racing Genk the agreed fee for Mirsad Beslija. Beslija signed for the Tynecastle side in January in a deal worth £800,000, with a 20 per cent payment being made up front. However, Genk insist they have still to receive the remaining 80 per cent despite setting a deadline of May 31. Genk's finance director Filip Aerden, said: "We have given them until the end of the week before we take any further action which, in the first instance, will include a report to FIFA." Meanwhile, the Jambos have just 24 hours to make a decision on Julien Brellier's future. The midfielder signed a season-long deal with Hearts in the summer, with the option of staying in Gorgie for another 12 months. His agent Mauricio De Georges said: "Hearts must tell me by June 15 if they are exercising the option on Julien for next season." Taken from the Scotsman |
