JAMBOS MUST BREAK BANK FOR PORTILLO

HEARTS have been told they must smash their transfer record to land Real Madrid star Javier Portillo.

The Tynecastle side are keen to sign the 24-year-old striker and he is interested in a move to Scotland.

But the Spanish giants have slapped a £4million pricetag on his head and the Jambos will have to smash the record £850,000 they paid Racing Genk to land Bosnian winger Mirsad Beslija in January. Owner Vladimir Romanov isn't scared to dig deep though and claimed last week he would spend up to £10m on a player who could lead them to the title and the Champions League groups stages.

Portillo (left) has struggled to break into the Real first team and spent the last two seasons on loan.

He was at Fiorentina before moving to Belgian club Brugge last term.
