ERICH WINS CAP AT LAST SPOTLIGHT ON HIBS SPOTLIGHT ON TRAGIC Hibs star Erich Schaedler is finally to receive international recognition - more than 20 years after his death. The full-back turned out for Scotland against West Germany in 1974 - a time when only games against other home countries qualified for a player to be capped. But the rules have changed and the SFA have confirmed Schaedler's family in Peebles will now receive his cap. A Hibs spokesman said: "The club is delighted that this great servant of Scottish football is finally being recognised." Schaedler, right, took his own life in 1985 at the age of just 36.
