LITTBARSKI'S NOT OFFSKI By Anthony Haggerty GERMAN great Pierre Littbarski will not be joining Hearts as their new head coach. Littbarski revealed earlier this week he wanted to replace Graham Rix as the boss of the Tynecastle side. But it seems Littbarski may have just been trying to win better terms with his current club, Australian A-League outfit Sydney FC. And it looks to have worked, with the former West Germany midfielder agreeing a new one year deal. Meanwhile, Hearts striker Edgar Jankauskas has handed the Jambos a major boost with the news he is fit to face Kilmarnock tomorrow in the race to clinch second spot - and a shot at the Champions League. The former Porto star missed the 4-0 win against Dunfermline on Saturday because of an ankle injury. But the hitman who has scored eight goals in his last nine games is set to return. Jambos assistant John McGlynn said: "Edgaras has trained again and he looks fine. "He's been doing great recently and is enjoying a really good spell which we hope he can continue." However, it's not all good news as the club are still sweating on the fitness of key figures such as Bruno Aguiar, Julien Brellier and Michal Pospisil. Benfica director of football Jose Veiga has become the latest name to be linked with Jim Duffy's former post. Owner Vladimir Romanov knows Veiga through the Aguiar deal. Taken from the Daily Record |
