McGlynn wants Hearts to hit backTeam news: Hearts v Dundee Utd Hearts interim manager John McGlynn is desperate to get back on track with a win over Dundee United. Since stepping in for George Burley, McGlynn has beaten Dunfermline and Kilmarnock, but the Tynecastle side lost out to rivals Hibs last week. "It's nothing to do with me wanting the job permanently. I would have hated to have gone out after losing to Hibs. "That would have left me with a sour taste, probably for the rest of my life. This is a massive game for us." The Edinburgh derby defeat ended Hearts' unbeaten SPL run and saw them knocked off top spot by Celtic. And the acrimonious departure of chief executive Phil Anderton and chairman George Foulkes has added to the sense of turmoil at Hearts. "When you're up there people want to knock you down," added McGlynn. "We had a knock last week and people are laughing at us and saying 'this is what we told you was going to happen'. "So it's about how we respond to it and hopefully we will respond in the right way. "I watched Dundee United last week (against Celtic) and they had a good win against Falkirk the week before so it won't be easy, They will make it difficult for us." Taken from the BBC |
