BEWILDERED fans began gathering outside Tynecastle last night as news of the latest shock developments at Hearts filtered across the city.

"George Foulkes was also a great man and he will be a terrible loss to Hearts. This is worse than relegation."

Callum Anderson, 40chairman of the Dickens Hearts Supporters' Club, said:"The club is in absolute turmoil."

Shareholder Steve Gilroy, 25, said: "Ten days ago we were coming back from Parkhead top of the league and everything in the garden was rosy.

"Everyone has backed Romanov so far in everything he has done but our confidence in him has gone right out of the window."

Neil MacKay, 38, from Slateford in the capital, said: "It will be a miracle if the uncertainty surrounding the club doesn't transfer onto the pitch
