Dundee United 2-1 HeartsA wonderful injury time goal from Grant Brebner sealed a vital win for relegation-threatened Dundee United. Brebner found the top corner with a curling shot from 20 yards to keep United one point ahead of bottom side Livingston, who won at Hibs. Barry Robson shot United ahead in the 37th minute after a mistake by Hearts youngster Jason Thomson. But the Tannadice side surrendered their lead almost immediately to Lee Miller, who rose to head home. United's win, their third in the space of seven days, was crucial given Livingston's shock 3-0 victory at Easter Road. And Caretaker-boss Gordon Chisholm's future must now be top of chairman Eddie Thompson's agenda and, after leading the club to the Scottish Cup final and wins over Rangers and Hearts. United started brightly and created the only two opportunities of any note from the opening quarter-hour. First Robson's swirling free-kick almost caught Craig Gordon out and then Stuart Duff had a clear sight of goal 20 yards out but blazed over the crossbar. The visitors then created two chances in quick succession. Denis Wyness was fortuitously played through on goal by Gary Kenneth's crunching challenge on Kizys, but shot wide from 12 yards. Miller then had the chance to beat Tony Bullock with a header, but the goalkeeper made a diving save. United grabbed the lead when a mistake from Thomson allowed the ball to run through to Wilson, who clipped a neat shot into the far corner from eight yards. The home fans were still celebrating when Hearts hit back. Jamie McAllister broke up the right before picking out Miller with a wonderful deep cross. The 22-year-old muscled Paul Ritchie off the ball before bulleting a header beyond Bullock for his tenth goal of the season. The English goalkeeper came to his side's rescue within seconds of the re-start, palming Wyness's free header over the bar. Visiting keeper Craig Gordon was not to be outdone and showed great reflexes to repel Brebner and Stuart Duff in quick succession. United were lucky when Hearts captain Steven Pressley hooked a shot over from point-blank range. United's teenage defender Gary Kenneth smacked the bar with a header in the dying seconds, but, just as it looked as if United were heading for the bottom, Brebner lashed in a tremendous winner.
