Reasons For Picking Team | Niemi for positioning and inspiring confidence.
Jardine as a brilliant leader and classy defender. Anderson as the best of 'stoppers'. Levein for the silky skills and great positioning. Flogel and Naysmith, both for the ever-present danger and winning so many tackles as well as scoring. Cameron for his work-engine, incisive runs and cracking goals. Busby for his hard tackling, hard running, hard shot etc. McKay for his dependability and link-up with Robbo. Robbo for .... well, for being Robbo! Ford for his amazing agility and skill, without being showy, this guy just played and played brilliantly! Subs: Cruikshank (tough call, but he got a start in my all-time team!) - again, Mr Agile who saved us many a time. McPherson - big and strong and even displayed some skill from time to time! Jacko - amazing skill and uses his footballing brain well! Rab Prentice - to come on and entertain us (would accept Johnstone, Aird, Murray or Juanjo for this role!) Willie Gibson - another of the 1970s heroes, who could be relied on to score. |
