Question Answer

Player Nominated

Gary Mackay

Nominated By

Tom Heaney

Where Do You Live

Washington DC

Why nominated

Perhaps not a class player but this guy was and is a class Jambo. Mr Hearts through and through. Always gave 100% and had a fair amount of skill. Never let the club down in any way. I remember in 1985 when we started the "Gary MacKay" Hearts Supporters Club in Bonnyrigg he came out to our first ever meeting just after a long drive home from Nottingham that afternoon. He continued to help out with the club at functions and never once let us down if he said he'd do something for us.

Memorable Matches

Every game against Hibs, it was always a joy to see the joy in his face when we scored against them. I remember the one he scored lobbing Goram at the Dunbar end at Easter Rd. I especially remember the goal he scored against Clydebank in the 2nd last game of the 85/86 season. I truly felt that he'd scored the goal that would win us the league!!!!!

Other Comments

A Jambo Through & Through, Wouldn't be disappointed to see him back where he belongs
