Wilson's fighting fit

Danny Wilson has come through Hearts' pre-season tour of Belfast unscathed as he bids to lead the team out against St Johnstone on August 4th.

The captain played his first 90 minutes of pre-season in the 1-0 defeat to Liverpool on Saturday and he feels raring to go for the season opener.

Speaking exclusively to Hearts News after the game, Danny said: "I feel good. I've done a lot of work with Rob Marshall, the physio, over the last couple of weeks. I've been making myself as fit as I can be to come and integrate myself with the boys.

"It's great for me to get 90 minutes in my legs and I'm looking forward to next weekend. Hopefully I've put myself in the window for that and I can be in the team.

"I think we got a good 45 minutes to an hour's work, working really hard. Obviously we played a game on Thursday night so maybe tiredness came into it a wee bit, we didn't have enough fresh legs out there.

"But we did well for the first 60 minutes, we maybe just ran out a wee bit at the end. It was a good workout, that's what we were here for; to get the miles in the legs. We've done that so I think we can be pretty happy with our pre-season preparations and we're just looking forward to next week."
