FoH to meet deadline for funds proof

FOUNDATION of Hearts have confirmed that they will meet today’s 5pm deadline for
providing proof of funding to the club’s administrators.

BDO had requested that each of the three bidders – Angelo Massone’s Five Stars Football Limited and HMFC Limited, led by Bob Jamieson, are the other two – provides evidence that they can back up their offers for Hearts in order to remain viable contenders in the battle for ownership. FoH, whose initial £5.75m bid comprised £2m towards a Company Voluntary Agreement and £3.75m working capital, will meet the deadline, although it remains to be seen if the other two parties are able to fulfil the request.

Meanwhile, back-up goalkeeper Mark Ridgers hopes his impressive display in last weekend’s friendly at Queen of the South has given Hearts manager Gary Locke food for thought.

The 22-year-old is has only made two competitive appearances for the Tynecastle club, but made the most of a rare
opportunity when he shone in the goalless draw at Palmerston on Saturday.

As he vies with established No. 1 Jamie MacDonald, Ridgers will now look to get some more game time when Hearts fly to Belfast tomorrow to compete in a four-team tournament. The Edinburgh side face Crusaders at The Oval, home of Glentoran, tomorrow night. “Straight away this season I’ve played more minutes than I did last year,” he said. “I was pleased with how I played. Hopefully it gives [the manager] a bit of confidence to know that if something ever does happen to Jamie then I’m ready to step in.”

Elsewhere, Hearts’ Scottish Cup hero Danny Grainger has been training with St Mirren in a bid to land a deal.
