The ball drops over his shoulder on the edge of the box but his spectacular effort flies wide. 14 min - Queens have definitely had the better of the opening period and look quite at home on the artificial surface. Paton has a shot but well over 16 min - Chance for Hearts as Jamie Walker spins onto the ball inside the Queens area and flashes a shot wide of the far post. Close. 19 min - Ridgers in the Hearts goal is almost left red-faced as Carmichael`s tame effort takes an odd bounce in front of him but he pushes it behind. 21 min - Queens are keeping the pressure on following the corner as the ball drops to Carmichael but his volley is blocked well. 23 min - First real opportunity comes to Queens. Carmichael nips ahead of his marker before playing in Lyle whose well-struck shot is parried. 31 min - Almost spectacular from Kevin Holt! Queens have a corner and the ball comes to Holt in the air whose overhead kick drops just over the bar. 35 min - Decent effort Lyle. Chris Mitchell whips in a free-kick from the left and Derek Lyle flicks his header a yard or so wide. 39 min - Lovely play from Hearts` Walker as he twists Mitchell inside and out on the left wing and curls a teaser across the goal but no one there. 40 min - Great save Ridgers! Mitchell swings in a corner and Higgins leaps to meet it but it`s straight at the keeper who tips over. 42 min - Off the bar! From the resulting corner Derek Lyle sends a looping header onto the Hearts bar before the defence clears. Hearts holding on. Half Time - HALF TIME - QOS 0:0 Hearts Half Time - A dominant performance so far from Queens on the new Palmerston surface and they are unfortunate not to be leading the SPL side. 45 min - SECOND HALF UNDERWAY 46 min - Three changes for Hearts as Carrick, Robinson and Holt come on for Hamill, King and Smith. 48 min - Not sure how he didn`t score! Lyle meets a cross from the right but doesn`t get a hold of it and the ball bobbles into the keeper`s arms. 55 min - Decent effort from Kevin Holt as the full-back comes in at the backpost to meet Mitchell`s cross but can`t get enough on it and it goes wide 59 min - Queens pressing again as Burns looks to get onto a loose ball in the area but the ball drops to Paton whose curled shot is blocked. 59 min - Substitution : Russell on for Paton 60 min - Substitution : McGuffie on for Burns 60 min - Substitution : Young on for Lyle 60 min - Substitution : Reilly on for McKenna 61 min - Substitution : Durnan on for Dowie 62 min - Subs aplenty! After all of that Gavin Reilly fashions a chance for Carmichael but he fires over from 15 yards. 66 min - Wild effort from Reilly as he cuts in from the left sending the ball well wide. 70 min - Another chance goes begging. McGuffie back-heels to Reilly whose shot is blocked. The ball falls to Carmichael but he can`t squeeze it in. 71 min - Substitution : Orsi on for Mitchell 71 min - Substitution : Slattery on for Holt 71 min - Substitution : McShane on for Trialist 77 min - Real chance for Hearts as Iain Russell gives the ball away in midfield and Nicholson finds Carrick free in the centre who heads over. 79 min - Cracking effort and a cracking save. Dan Orsi drives at the defence and tries his luck from 25 yards but Ridgers saves at full stretch. 84 min - Carmichael plays a lovely reverse ball for Russell to scamper onto but his cross from the left was wayward and another good opening passes. 87 min - Chance Reilly! Another opportunity for Queens as Russell sends Reilly clear, he cuts back before smacking the ball over from 18 yards. 16:46 - FULL TIME - QOS 0:0 Hearts 16:47 - The match finishes goalless but it was Queens who dominated from start to finish.They`ll need to bring their shooting boots next time though 16:48 - New manager Jim McIntyre will be happy with the performance but may feel that his team should have scored two or three into the SPL side. 17:35 - Apologies for the lack of FB and Twitter updates today.
