Charity worker plans Hearts to Livingston walkPublished on 18/07/2013 12:00 A HOMELESS charity worker is limbering up to pound the pavements on a marathon trek between the grounds of Hearts and Livingston. Stephanie Wilson, 26, will tackle the 26-mile stadium-to-stadium return route in a bid to raise money for the Homeless World Cup taking place in Poznan. The Ferry Gait Crescent resident has dubbed the challenge “A Tyne Walk to Un-Vale hope” in a nod to the stadium names – Tynecastle and Almondvale. Speaking of the challenge, keen Jambo Stephanie, a former homeless housing officer with Link Housing Association in Edinburgh and currently a homeless prevention officer at West Lothian Council, said: “I’ve never walked a distance further than from work and back, but I was up for a challenge and thought the route ties in with football and homelessness well. “I’ve been training for eight weeks and have been upping my distance each time.” Taken from the Scotsman |
