Hearts administration: Alistair Darling buys ticketPublished on 05/07/2013 18:21 Alistair Darling is the latest to step up for Hearts in their Big Hearts Big Ticket campaign. The former Chancellor of the Exchequer and current Edinburgh South West MP was at Tynecastle today buying his season ticket in support of the campaign Mr Darling follows First Minister Alex Salmond who bought his Hearts season ticket last week. Big Hearts chief executive Alan White said last week: “The backing for the Big Hearts Big Ticket campaign has been incredible. To see the First Minister arrive to support the club and its community at this difficult time has given everyone a lift. “Of course, we’d be delighted if other political leaders wanted to lend us their support too - at least the maroon minded ones.” First Minister Alex Salmond said: “My dad’s now nearly 92 and the next time I go and see him if I haven’t done my bit to help save Hearts he’ll clip my ear and kick my behind. “He brought me to Tynecastle when I was a young lad and I want other people to have the same opportunity. “Like all Hearts fans I am desperate that the club is playing not just next season but for the next century and beyond. I want all the young Hearts fans to have the same opportunities I had to support their club.” Taken from the Scotsman |
