Hearts administration: season ticket sales surge
HEARTS looked set to smash through the 2000 barrier this weekend as their supporters continued to respond to a call to snap up season tickets. The Tynecastle club has been set a target of selling 3000 of the briefs within a fortnight by administrators Trevor Birch and Brian Jackson as they bid to prevent Hearts from going bust. And Birch admitted that he has been left “hugely encouraged” for Hearts’ future after the club announced that they have already sold 1500 of the tickets. Birch said: “The response has been tremendous and we are grateful to everyone who has supported the club. We’re not out of the woods yet but every ticket we sell buys us much-needed additional time to secure the club’s future. We’re all heading in the right direction and we need to keep the momentum going.” Many supporters had held off on buying their tickets ahead of pay day but those looking to spread payment for their season ticket were given a boost with the news that they can once again take advantage of the club’s partnership with Zebra Finance to spread the cost of their season ticket over several months. “The partnership with Zebra Finance now gives fans another option for buying their season tickets,” added Trevor. Robert Easton, a Zebra Finance director, added: “Hearts has an incredibly loyal set of fans and we are pleased to be working with them to help boost the club’s finances. Everyone is pulling together to keep the club alive and we are proud to do our bit as well.” Tickets can be bought through Zebra Finance at www.heartsfc.co.uk. The ticket office at Tynecastle will be open today from 9am to 4pm and tomorrow from noon to 4pm. Taken from the Scotsman |
