Hearts fan vows to have Vladimir Romanov tattoo removed from his back after Tynecastle club go bustGary Ralston 20 Jun 2013 07:37 STAN THOMSON, 52, insists he will remain loyal to Hearts despite plans to have Romanov's name removed from his £1000 tattoo. HEARTS superfan Stan Thomson is delivering the ultimate snub to owner Vladimir Romanov – by removing his name from his back. DJ Stan, 52, made headlines seven years ago when he forked out more than £1000 to have the Jambos crest tattooed on his back, along with Romanov’s name. Now Stan, from Danderhall, is showing his disgust at the club’s collapse into administration. He said: “Enough is enough. Hearts are in a bigger mess now than when Romanov took over. “I’ve been to see a tattoo artist about getting Romanov’s name covered up and I want it done as soon as possible.” But Stan says he has no regrets about having the tattoo done. He said: “This feels like a divorce after having been in love. I thought Romanov was the man.” Stan made his decision to erase the tattoo after the administration was announced – just two days after he and brother Chris spent £2000 on season tickets for their families. He added: “Romanov went on about bringing in world class players and managers and challenging for honours. It was rubbish. He made an a**e of us.” To add insult to injury, pictures of the tattoo have been doing the rounds on the internet and rival fans have been enjoying winding Stan up. But he insists he will remain loyal to Hearts, whatever happens. Taken from the Daily Record |
