Vlad’s as big a rogue as Whyte

JOHN BROWN has branded Vladimir Romanov a rogue — and insists he is Hearts’ version of shamed Craig Whyte.

The Dundee gaffer’s team could be propelled back into the SPL if the Jambos plunge into administration.

Brown compared the Tynecastle owner to Rangers’ hate figure.

He said: “Romanov’s a rogue. From day one at Hearts you could see what he was going to do and there is not a great deal of difference between him and the Craig Whytes of this world.”

Brown is waiting to hear the outcome of SPL meetings to discuss Hearts’ future after parent company UBIG crashed.

Hearts could be docked 17 points if they go into administration and relegated, which would mean Dundee beat the drop.

But Brown, who was with Rangers when they were placed into administration in February 2012, insists he would hate to see that happen to another club.

He added: “Hearts fans have dug in their pockets and filled the stadium.

“I would hate to see them go under. It is bad for Scottish football. Hearts are a big club with a good fan base. I was at Rangers when the club went into administration, it is horrible and people suffer.

“It might benefit Dundee but that does not matter. It’s a terrible thing for the people who work there and for the supporters.

“They have been let down by people with big egos.

“I’m interested in Dundee staying as high as we can, but you never want to do it through circumstances like that. Scottish football needs a good shake-up because clubs are suffering. Not just Hearts but Dunfermline as well.”

Brown also admits he feels for Jambos boss Gary Locke.

He said: “Gary’s a fantastic guy. I spoke to him the other day and wished him all the best.

“I feel for him and his staff. They have built a great youth policy at the club and credit to them.”
