Decisions went against Saints, says 'Thommo'May 6 2013 by Paul Behan, Paisley Daily Express Saints striker Steven Thompson reckons two crucial refereeing decisions went against Danny Lennon’s side at Tynecastle. Thompson is convinced he should have won a penalty of his own after being impeded in the box by Hearts goalscorer Kevin McHattie. The veteran striker also cast doubt over the incident which led to Hearts’ second goal after 53 minutes, which saw Kenny McLean red-carded and Jamie Hamill score from the penalty spot. ‘Thommo’ said: “Mine was definitely a penalty kick but not a lot of people saw it, including the referee, which isn’t great. “The linesman was in line with it as well. “I was 100 per cent pulled back and I only protest if I know something has happened against me. “And in terms of the other penalty kick decision, I was at the other end of the pitch, so I did not see it clearly. “But Craig Samson has said that Kenny won the ball quite cleanly, so there’s some disappointing decisions. “We gave ourselves too much to do and, when Kenny went off, it was a case of damage limitation really.” http://www.paisleydailyexpress.co.uk |
