Locke: "We showed everything required"

Gary Locke was a delighted man as his side got back to winning ways following a five-game winless run with a fine attacking display, led by man-of-the-match Michael Ngoo.

The resurgent Jambos put the disappointing month of February behind them, with goals from Ryan Stevenson and John Sutton firing the home side to a valuable three points against St Johnstone.

Speaking after the match, Gary commended his side for continuing the good form shown in the second half of Saturday's defeat to Motherwell

"Tonight we showed everything that was required to get us out of this situation," he said. "Every player that contributed tonight was excellent, we continued the positive work that we showed in the second half on Saturday and we're delighted to get a win after such a bad run."

Despite the media suggesting Gary's chances of landing the permanent manager's role being enhanced by the win this evening, the man himself moved to dismiss any such talk, insisting that he was only focussing on the here-and-now, and looking ahead to Sunday's meeting with Hibs.

"As I said after Saturday I'm not thinking about that," he revealed. "We've been put in charge for the past two games, and I'm not sure what's happening with the derby.

"I'd like to dedicate the win to the fans tonight, and also to John McGlynn as well."

Finally, Gary confirmed that both he and the playing staff paid no attention to rumours being spread in the online media earlier yesterday, insisting he was fully concerned with doing his own job, which was managing the side to victory.

"I've heard the rumours and I think it's scaremongering," he stated. "My job is on the football side of things. The players aren't fussed about off-field rumours in the media.

"Our sole focus was getting the victory. It's business as usual."
