Learning curve for Billy

Billy King believes that Hearts can learn from Saturday's defeat at home to Kilmarnock and use the disappointment as a springboard to success.

The Jambos were slayed by a Paul Heffernan hattrick as Kenny Shiels' men extended their unbeaten run against the Gorgie boys to eight matches.

Speaking to the media after the match, Billy said: "Everyone was very disappointed after the game. It was a bad day at the office and we need to put it behind us and concentrate on next week.

"The difference was they were more clinical in the final third. They also defended well. We need to be more clinical and cut out the mistakes. We need to learn from it and concentrate on not making the same mistakes next week.

"There's a lot of young boys in the team and we're going to learn every week as we're playing in the top flight of Scottish football. I feel we're learning every week and not making the same mistakes twice. We need to try and get the first goal and if we do that then we can kick-on, instead of going behind early and trying to claw it back.

"We should take each game as it comes, concentrate on that one and get some points on the board."

The injury list at Tynecastle continues to grow at an alarming rate, with King's teammate Darren Barr being stretchered off after a first half clash of heads with Danny Wilson. The Scotland U19s winger reckons losing the centre half, as well as the services of Marius Zaliukas, upset the team's rhythm.

"I think losing Darren Barr upset things," he said. "It didn't help that we had to use our first substitution early.

"It was also a massive blow to lose our captain; Marius. He's been commanding at the back and probably one of our best players this season."
