Hearts legend Dave Mackay is one of only two Scots featured on a new set of stamps as Royal Mail marks the 150th anniversary of the establishing of the rules of Association Football and the 140th anniversary of the Scottish FA.

Joining the former Tynecastle captain in the collection which celebrates 11 of the greatest football stars from England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales is former Manchester United favourite Denis Law.

The stamps feature the 11 stars in their home nation strip - Dave Mackay (Scotland), Denis Law (Scotland); John Barnes (England), Gordon Banks (England), George Best (Northern Ireland), John Charles (Wales), Bobby Charlton (England), Jimmy Greaves (England), Kevin Keegan (England), Bobby Moore (England), Bryan Robson (England).

Fans can pre-order the stamps today by registering at www.royalmail.com/footballheroes.

From May 9, the stamps will be available online at www.royalmail.com/stamps, by phone on 08457 641 641, and in 9000 Post Offices across the UK.
