Bookies split over Cup derby

BOOKIES just can’t reach a consensus where tomorrow’s Edinburgh derby showdown is concerned, with some firms unable to separate the teams and others divided as to who are the favourites.

On the face of it, it makes sense that Hearts are slight outsiders at 7/4 via Ladbrokes given that Hibs are riding high in second spot in the SPL, however, BetVictor consider history a more important factor and rate the hosts as 9/5 underdogs to end a 12-match winless streak against their rivals.

Inevitably this will lead to a flurry of bets on a stalemate at 23/10 (Skybet) while William Hill’s 6/1 marked against a 1-1 scoreline could also prove popular.

With recent renewals having gone their way the Jambos will be confident and a victory for them by a solitary strike is 10/3 at Paddy Power. The pair meanwhile, are both 9/1 at Stan James to register a 2-1 success.

Leigh Griffiths has helped himself to 13 goals already this term so he’ll attract first scorer cash at 5/1 (bet365) while Jamie Walker is a 12/1 shot via BetVictor to break the deadlock.
