Brauhaus blitz

15.11.2012

The Brauhaus Bar became the first major fundraising event to donate money to Hearts after collecting over £7500 on Sunday.

In a day of incredible fundraising, the Brauhaus ran auctions and raffles, as well as photos with the Scottish Cup. To top it all off, all proceeds from drinks purchased at the bar from opening to closing time were pledged to the grand total, which was handed over to the club the following day.

Manager and Hearts supporter Sal Sarwar was the man who ran show, aided by a band of volunteers and staff - who declined their wages for the event - as well as double Scottish Cup winner Rudi Skacel, who got behind the bar to pull some pints for the packed crowd.

Reflecting on a manic but hugely successful day, Sal said: "It was a truly unforgettable day in the bar.

"In the end we raised just around £7600, the majority of which I've dropped off to the club and I'm waiting for auction winners to come back in to pay for their items."

The money raised will be used to purchase shares through the Share Offer.

The Brauhaus Bar has long been a supporter of Hearts, with signed memorabilia adorning the walls, and can be found on Lauriston Place in Edinburgh.
