Cap calls for Hearts babes

Hearts stars Jason Holt and Dale Carrick are today celebrating their maiden call-ups to the Scotland U21 squad.

Billy Stark's team face an international challenge match double header in Marbella on 12th and 15th October when they take on USA and Canada, respectively.

Both Jason and Dale have represented Scotland at youth level, but this is their first venture into the U21 setup.

Jason has been juggling responsibilities for the first team and the U20s and recently captained Darren Murray's side to victory over Clyde in the SFA Youth Cup. He's also featured in the first team this season when he made a substitute appearance at Pittodrie against Aberdeen in August.

Dale has followed his fellow U20s teammate Callum Paterson into John McGlynn's first team this season, making two starts and seven sub appearances, including a run out against Liverpool at Anfield.

The duo join a new-look Scotland U21s side that includes five regular SPL players and seven EPL/Championship players.
