Ross relishing trip to Tynecastle and chance to startAlasdair Fraser NICK Ross is ready to contribute a richer haul of goals for Inverness Caley Thistle – after almost equalling last season's tally in two substitute appearances. Only a wonder-save from Kilmarnock's Cammy Bell denied the Inverness lad a second strike in two games. Ross is a prospect lauded by manager Terry Butcher but knows that failure to find the back of the net regularly has been his Achilles heel. Certainly, the signs are good for the 20-year-old after two 23-minute appearances from the bench. Ross, entering his third season with the first team, admitted: "In the first game at St Mirren I got a bit of luck and was in the right place at the right time to score. "I was quite happy with the finish but two goals in two games would have been a bit too much for me – I am not used to that! "I saw the chance against Kilmarnock again and maybe I should have scored. But he stressed: "I don't want to get stuck with the super-sub tag. I want to get into the team." Ross is relishing today's trip to Tynecastle having already experienced the atmosphere of the ground in his young career. He said: "It is always good to go there as the crowd are really close to you. There is always a good atmosphere and Hearts are a good team." Taken from the Herald |
