HEARTS have drafted in extra staff to cope with demand for Scottish Cup final tickets, which go on sale at 12pm tomorrow and have prompted interest worldwide as the clamour to see the first all-Edinburgh Final for 116 years intensifies.
The Scottish Football Association allocated both Hearts and Hibs just over 20,000 tickets each for the historic game at Hampden Park on May 19. The Tynecastle club will initially sell their portion to supporters with a minimum of 40 loyalty points starting tomorrow afternoon.
Additional ticket staff have been enlisted to handle the sales process and help ensure it runs as smoothly as possible. After taking calls from fans all across the world, Hearts are anticipating a flurry of activity at the Tynecastle ticket centre tomorrow afternoon.
A club spokesperson said: "The Final is going to be an historic occasion and it is an exciting time for everyone involved with the club.
"As soon as we booked our place in the Final by defeating Celtic, supporters were on the phone from every corner of the globe inquiring about tickets. The tickets go on sale tomorrow at noon to those fans with sufficient loyalty points and will be allocated one per person. We are anticipating an extremely busy afternoon as we expect many of those supporters who are eligible will want to get their hands on their tickets as soon as possible. With that in mind, staffing levels will be increased considerably in an effort to ensure the customer experience goes as smoothly as possible."
