Hibs legend Joe Tortolano hopes Hearts secure Edinburgh final by beating CelticApr 15 2012 by David Rinaldi, Sunday Mail HIBS legend Joe Tortolano will be a Hearts fan for 90 minutes today – because he's desperate to see an Edinburgh derby in the Scottish Cup Final. The former full-back was thrilled to see his old club see off Aberdeen in yesterday's Hampden semi. Now he hopes the Jambos stun favourites Celtic to set up the first all-Edinburgh final since 1896. He joked: "I'll try to dig out a maroon scarf but I'll make sure everything else I'm wearing is green and white. "If the final is a derby they will probably have to move it to Murrayfield." Leigh Griffiths and Garry O'Connor will hog the headlines after grabbing the goals that deflated the Dons. But former Hibee hitman Keith Wright insisted stopper James McPake was the hero. He said: "Strikers always get the glory but McPake at the back was the real star. "He marshalled the defence and was a key player." Lawrie Reilly is one of the club's Famous Five and the 83-year-old insists the current crop can go down in history like the magnificent side from the 1950s. He said: "These boys can go on and become legends." Taken from the Daily Record |
