Calum exits Hearts

Calum Elliot has become the latest Hearts player to leave the club after agreeing to terminate his contract on January 1st 2012.

After the exits last week of goalkeeper Janos Balogh and youngster Dale O'Hara, the striker has followed suit in penning a compromise agreement which sees him depart Tynecastle at the turn of the year.

The striker is currently on an extended loan to first division promotion hopefuls Dundee, which will run through to his exit from Tynecastle.

Calum featured in over 120 games for Hearts including playing a significant part in the 2005/06 season which saw Hearts achieve second place in the league and win a Champions League qualification spot.

Speaking to Hearts News today, former Scotland U21 international Calum said: "I have enjoyed my time at Hearts but I am very keen to have a fresh start now I'm getting back to full fitness.

"I am keen to regain my form and now I am back playing regularly I am sure I can succeed at a high level. I would like to thank everyone at the club who have looked after me and been good to me through my eight seasons."

A club spokesperson said: "Calum has made a good contribution to the club and we wish him all the best in his future career. He is a very good player and will undoubtedly make a positive contribution to his new club and he goes with our best wishes."
