Hearts' stroll in Methil

A Hearts XI defeated East Fife 5-1 in today's friendly at Bayview Stadium.

Fielding a mixture of youth and experience, the Jambos eased to victory and could have won by an even more convincing margin against John Robertson's side.

David Templeton opened the scoring for he visitors, while Jamie Mole, Gary Glen, Danny Thomson and an own goal were the other counters for the Tynecastle outfit.

Coach Gary Locke was delighted with the professional performance from the team, telling Hearts News: "It was a very pleasing display. The boys played well and we could have scored a few more."

Andrew Driver was pencilled in for the 90 minutes in Methil but missed out after being hit by an overnight stomach bug.

"It was unfortunate for Andy but he'll be okay for training on Monday," added Gary.
